The Big Day: October 2011

Hello blog world! Wow the past two weeks have been crazy! In a good way. It has gone way too fast, but on the bright side, it's all down hill from here! Only a few more months to go. Oh and they will creep along at a nice slow pace, but it could be worse I guess.

So the big day is in 18 months, October (22 or 29) 2011. Why so long? Many reasons. Oh and plenty have given their opinions about it being so long. Either they are in favor or think we are crazy. A wedding can be planned in six months, but not my wedding. I want to enjoy the process. Not be completely overwhelmed and miss the fun in it. Also, we don't have jobs yet. This gives us plenty of time to find jobs, a house, and maybe be able to put some nifty stuff in the house too! James gets back (hopefully) sometime late summer/early fall this year. Which gives us a little over a year for wedding stuff. I think it's a good time frame.

Who knew a wedding could be so stressful already? Not really the wedding part of it. We are going to do what we want to do and have fun doing it, but all the people putting in their ten cents is going to drive me bonkers. "You have to get married in a church" or "You have to have so-and-so in the wedding" or "You can't have your dog in the wedding" or "Why are you going have her and not her" or "Why are you only going to have four attendants" or "You should get married on this date because I will remember it better." Blah, blah, blah. Seriously? When did our wedding become all about everyone else? It's not. So just a forewarning, we are going to do what we want to do and if you don't like it, sorry. It's our day and it is after all, all about us.
