Her little paw is even bigger! Probably well over twice the normal size. The swelling has moved up her leg too, but seems to have stopped there. We are thinking she must have come in contact with a wasp, they always swell worse. She is limping, but who wouldn't? Wasps also have a tendency to hurt a lot longer too. Other than the swelling she seems to be acting normalish. She isn't really playing like she usually does, but then again, it probably still hurts and she has to use that to play. I've read up on it and she doesn't seem to have anything that looks suspicious, except the excessive swelling. She is alert, wandering around, breathing normal, eating and drinking. You are supposed to watch them for about 24 hours and we are just now coming up to the 12 hour mark. We are thinking that the worst is over though. Most of the bad symptoms are pretty quick after the sting or withing a few hours. So she should be in the clear. Sometimes the swelling takes days for a human to get over, so chances are she will have a big paw for a few days. I wish I could get her to sit still to put ice on it... I guess I will have to check on her some over the night to make sure shes alright, but I don't mind. She is much more important than sleep!
