Outside Adventure Gone Wrong

Bell's day started out early. With mommy sleeping way too much. Doesn't she know you are supposed to be up way before the birdies get up? What if you miss them! Better not take any chances. So up early we were, by we I mainly mean Bella, even though she tried to get mommy up. So she had to wait. When mommy finally gets up it's birdie time! No... She has to wait again. Mommy has to groom herself. Not everyone is born with beautiful fur and a self bathing tongue.

After that it's birdie time! So outside we go. Bella sitting on the side walk watching the birds fly and the squirrels throw things. (They were very active this morning.) Somewhere a bee was involved. Mommy didn't see it, but I don't think anyone misses the moment it stung her. A loud cry and a running kitty shaking her paw was the result. Oh and she didn't want to be touched. Even though she ran to mommy and wanted her to take the pain away, it didn't help. (Must not have magic kisses.)

The wonder and awe of outside was gone. The birds were completely forgotten. All Bella wanted was to be in her house. So that's where she went. Try as she might she could not shake off or clean off the stinging. She wouldn't even put pressure on the injured paw. (We couldn't tell if the stinger was still in her paw and she did not want it to be messed with!) We put some stuff on her paw to make it stop stinging. (Pet safe of course.) Not sure if it worked or not. She just licked and licked at it.

Now we have one giant paw and three tiny little ones. Bella has gotten brave and ventured back outside, but she didn't go far or move much. That tirp outside was short lived because it's the baby's nap time. She can't really seem to get comfortable. She is laying in her bed all curled up with her stung paw elevated. (Seriously.) Poor little darling. Maybe next time we should leave those bugs alone. They aren't very friendly.

We were being bashful. Can you see her swollen paw?
