Just over two weeks after my darling little Bella had her surgery, the poor thing had to go back to the vet! Needless to say she was not happy with mommy! Trying to get her in the carrier was an adventure and a half, which I lost. So in my utter frustration and not wanting her to slice me to pieces, I put a collar and leash on her. She didn't like that move too much either. I don't blame her, who wants a bell on their neck anyways? I eventually got her in the carrier, but it was after we were in the vet's office. It is amazing how something they hate can become comforting just in a different setting.
To answer some questions as to what was wrong with the poor girl, everything! She started acting funny on Thursday and really hasn't gotten better. She hides and sleeps all the time. She has been eating, which is the only thing that comforted me. She couldn't jump, run, climb or attack Tiger. Something was seriously wrong with her in my eyes. From day one she has just been a crazy girl climbing brick walls and I loved it.
To make a long story short, she is going to be just fine! I was very glad the vet finally called us back from the message we left on Saturday and made us an appointment for today. I don't know how we missed it, maybe because she stayed curled up in a little ball under the bed most of the time the past few days, but a little bit of her incision came open and was bleeding. The vet said she was running a temperature of 105, which apparently is a pretty good fever for a cat even though they run hotter than we do. So they think her incision is infected and with some fluids and medication she will be back to normal in a few days! I'm glad we figured out what was wrong with her and I am looking forward to having my spastic little girl running through the house again.
