Bella Says "Hi!"

July is the longest month of the year I think. Not for kids of course. It's crazy everyone is talking about going back to school already. Didn't they just get out? Not that it bothers me at all. I've thought about going back to school or at least taking some classes and getting some certificates, but it's a little late for that at this stage of the game. School starts in a month, or less depending on where you are. So maybe next semester. I should have looked into that earlier, huh?

Well we are down to about two weeks left! It's been a long year. Until you are in this kind of position you will never know just how long 365 days can be, but we get through it. Being in the military or related to one is not for the weak or needy. Trust me, I didn't realize how much it took until I was put in the situation. I have a lot of friends who are "sisters" in the whole engaged or married or mothers and grandmothers to army men. They are an extraordinary group of women. I was never in this scene before, but now it's like they just keep popping up everywhere! Which is a good thing. They make for a good support group. Several of them have guys over in Iraq right now and another is headed out to Afghanistan soon. No, they are not all in the same unit either. It just worked out that way I guess.

You may not agree with the wars in the Middle East and I'm not sure where I stand on all that political stuff, it usually just makes me mad when I hear it. But as Jethro Gibbs said in NCIS (the best show ever!) "I support the men fighting it." I think that's a big one. We take everything for granted here in the USA. Our safety, liberties, and freedoms were not handed over on a silver platter. They were fought for. People bled and died for them. So even if the political side of the war is a little sketchy, support the men and women who are fighting it. They are willing to fight because they love our country, but I doubt any of them really want to leave their homes and families. I can't really blame them there. Loyalty. That's a word we need to teach our children and instill on our own hearts. Those men and women have it, the least we can do it show it in return.

This was not where my blog post was headed in any way, shape, or form but once I got going the words just kept coming. That happens more than you know and I can't think of anything better to add onto the end of that except a Bella picture. (She was supposed to be featured more in this post, but I don't think she will mind waiting until the next one.)
