Bella is the best little girl ever! Most days... She has her faults I guess. Mommy chooses to ignore the temperamental little girl for the little angel that she is 99.9% of the time. As a kitten, before she was able to run the house by herself she had a little accident in our recliner and another on my parent's bed. So naturally because she did it as a baby, she thinks she can do it all the time. She is usually so good, but randomly she likes to "think outside the box." Today was one of those days. It's hard to know when it will happen. She's usually so good, but every few months she gets a wild hair. I thought we fixed the problem with the bed when we got a new matres and linens, which were needed anyways. She hasn't gone there in about a year. Assuming it was her this morning. Having two cats it's hard to know which does what. So I think it was her, but it could have been Tiger too. Either way, we have a problem. So mom is going to throw away the chair. I hate it because it's a wonderful leather recliner. I cleaned it pretty good, but sometimes you just can't get it all the way out. Lucky for us, those are the only 2 spots she has ever used besides the box. Not uncommon I guess. They are creatures of habit and once they think they can go there, it could stick for a while.

Temperamental Child
I researched what to do about spraying cats and I came across a couple things I'm going to try. Some are already put into effect. I found a Dr. Elsey who is a cat vet. He specializes in felines and has a practice of only cats. He has researched why they do this and has come out with a special litter for "problem cats." I hate to call her a problem, but if it will help I'm all ears. He has a whole list of things you can do. So I went and bought another box, a BIG open box! Cat's like space, especially the bigger cats, and Bella as small as she seems sometimes, is a pretty long cat. He also said that cats don't like the boxes with covers because they can't move around. I didn't like ours with a cover because Tiger peed in the same place in the box and it was annoying for me to clean it. So I took that off a long time ago. He recommended to have the same number of boxes as cats plus one. So we now have 3 and to not put them side by side. Our first two are, but I moved the third into another room. I got his litter that is supposed to be eco-friendly and have herbs and stuff that will "attract" cats to the box. Apparently cat's don't like the littler that smells. I don't blame them. Even the unscented litter has a smell. I don't like the fresh step, it reeks! But we'll see if this one works. Other than that, keep it clean! I know that is my fault, I forget sometimes and it will go a few days too long before cleaning it. Our room where the boxes are has flooded a few times this summer because of the rains, like it did last night, so I think that might have something to do with it too.
So new box, new litter, keep clean, get rid of the problem areas, and we are set! We hope so anyways...
