Numb Leg and Rich People!

HUMP DAY! Its all down hill from here! And let me tell ya, this week has been interesting so far.

Monday was a beautiful day! Sun shining and pretty warm for this time of year. I had no complaints at all! Well until practice when my right leg went numb half way down the run way! That was certainly a shocker. It was a weird feeling. It went numb for a brief second and then it was tingling for a little bit. Needless to say I quit after that happened. Which is so incredibly frustrating because I am so far behind! I am going through a mental problem at the moment. And if you don't know vaulting, just to let you know, it is about 90% mental. If you have any doubts about coming off the ground, you usually don't. And so that is where I am at the moment. Stuck in a rut! And adding a numb leg to the equation doesn't bring good results.

Tuesday was like most other Tuesdays. A day full of classes and practice (lifting weights and gymnastics). Good news is that I got 2 tests back and I got an A on one and a pretty high B on the other! Which to be honest I was a little unsure of both of them, especially the B since I guessed on a pretty good portion of the test.

And then came today! I spent the morning rubbing elbows with all the prominent business women of Charlotte. Well, either that or they are married to some wealthy men. More than likely the second. It was the 5Th annual Let Me Play Luncheon at the Westin downtown, which is a fund raiser for female athletic scholarships at UNCC. Every year we have a good turnout. My first time going was last year and there was right about 400 women in attendance. This year there was over 600! Which is awesome! We had some good speakers and decent food. I was amused when they made all the athletes stand up just so people could see that we could sweat and be beautiful too. There is always a video of clips from the women athletes. Unfortunately, not many track and field stars were on it, soccer and basketball took the show this year for some reason. But overall it was a successful event and almost everyone donated so athletic scholarships should be going up for the girls! But when we got back to school I was more than happy to take those heels off! Practice soon followed and once again, leg goes numb! I was told it is probably a pinched nerve, which means Shannon is going back to the chiropractor! Exciting... but whatever helps right!?

So now its almost the weekend!! A long day tomorrow in classes and then Friday I'm going to the Christmas Show with my mama! Oh and don't forget to watch my friend and teammate Tia on Deal or No Deal at 8:00 Friday night! I'm excited!! Have a great night folks and I will be checking in with you again soon :)
