Give and Take

That's not exactly the best title for this blog. It should be more like "This is what I'm going to give you, but I can and probably will take it away and you just have to get over it." Any guesses on just who or what I'm talking about? If you guessed the government you are correct and get a gold star!

The other day you caught me on the "poor pitiful me" day. I'm over that now. I had a great date with a girl who has always had some sound advice and worked with two amazing women (both named Melanie) who are either going through the same thing or have been through something far worse. So I've gotten my good perspective back and I'm all better. Really.

I got to talk to my army boy last night for a while which really made me happy. Fort Dix doesn't have good cell reception so being able to talk has been very limited. Anyways apparently there is a change of plans, nothing major but still its a change. They are leaving Fort Dix in about a month to go to country, but normally before they leave they get a four day pass to go home. Oh don't worry they are getting the four day pass, just not James and Mark. Well that's not completely true either. They might be going "advanced party" which is that they would be leaving about three days early which would mean no pass. However, that's not set in stone so if they can't go advanced party they still wont be taking a leave because Mark doesn't want to say goodbye to his daughter again and James is going to go somewhere with him for four days. Cute isn't it?

Don't get too excited there's more. Also last we talked he might not get a two week leave in the middle of all this. So I was pretty upset when I heard no pass and no leave, but now that has changed too. So we are giving up four days but gaining 14 sometime during the year. I think I can do that. I guess you can't have everything, but a little but is better than nothing, right?
