Every morning I wake up to an adventure- the scavenger hunt to find Bella's pink mouse. We all know it has been her favorite toy since she was a baby. Sometime along the way however, she lost it and mommy couldn't find it. I looked the house up and down and couldn't find her little pink mouse. So for her first birthday (December 14) I bought her a new pink mouse. She was so excited! Her eyes lit up right away. It has been almost the only toy she wants to play with. So just like before every morning and every time I leave the house, I come back to a scavenger hunt to see where she lost it this time. The usual places are under the book shelf, couch, TV stand, and sometimes downstairs.
About a week ago my darling Bella lost her pink mouse and we couldn't find it for several days. Where did it turn up? Under my mom's cedar chest. That's a new one. Well again the other day she lost her mousy and I looked everywhere for it, so I decided to look under the cedar chest. It worked the time before, maybe it would work again. Sure enough out came a little pink mouse. Call me crazy, but it looked different. I thought it had a little hole in it and is it skinnier? Bella even seemed to smell it more and push it with her nose before picking it up and running away with it. Well Maybe I'm crazy.
So yesterday I was on the hunt again for the little pink mouse because she refused to play with anything else at that time. (She has me trained well.) So I looked in the usual places. TV stand? No. Couch? No. Chair? No. Ottoman? No. Bookshelf? (Play triumph music) But what?? Out came two little pink mice! I wasn't crazy! I had found the original pink mouse!
Bella was more than pleased to have her mice back, but a little overwhelmed when both are thrown at the same time. Now we have one safely tied to her stick with a string, she loves chasing it that way too, and the other floats around wherever she feels like taking it. Mystery solved, case closed... For now.
