Hello all you wonderful people!
We went and looked at reception places today! Yay! I'm really liking Pine Lake Country Club. We also visited Rolling Hills Country Club, but they were snooty and wouldn't even talk to us about anything until we had a member sponsor. So that was kind of a turn off for me. You should be selling yourself to me, not me begging to use you. That is what the people at Pine Lake did. They were so down to earth and welcoming. Everything was pretty straight forward. He gave us a great visual of what to expect and let us look around the rooms we would be using and told us what would be where. Oh and the big plus, no hidden fees! Rolling Hills was nice enough to give us a packet of information, but their rental fee is higher and they have some of those hidden fees, not as many as some places we've looked at, but they are there. Pine Lake is a little more pricey on the food end, but I think it all balances out in the end. So as of right now, Pine Lake is definitely winning the race. (Plus if we can find a member sponsor they will cut the rental fee in half!) It's all very exciting!
It's hard to believe we are looking at places and picking things out already! Oh and another big plus, Pine Lake is open on all the dates we have in mind. Big surprise there huh? Well not really. He plans things up to two years in advance and the first weekend of October 2011 is already booked. So we need to get on the stick here! Ha! Nah we have plenty of time. It is exciting to think about though.
Now about the place to have the ceremony... Well, it's going to be a church. We just aren't sure what church. Ours is definitely one of the ones we are considering, but there might be some unmentionable things that may prevent that. Who knows! It would work out well if it was our church because it is ten minutes from Pine Lake. (And not much farther to Rolling Hills.) Well that's all the news I've got for you today.
Have a great day bloggies!
