Hello my fabulous readers! Happy Memorial Day! (Tomorrow) Mine is going to be stuck at work for nine hours. I have a feeling it's going to be a miserably slow day, but yay for hours! So want to hear more about my purge? Okay, so not all of it is a purge. Some things need to be added. Like vitamins! Yes, I know, always take your vitamins. I'm getting better! Anyways, being healthy and active is something that I feel needs to be added into my life, which means a few purges.
The past month I could probably count on one hand how many soft drinks I've consumed. (Pretty impressive for someone who was highly addicted to caffeine.) I don't think they are that bad for you, but too much can be. So I've cut back! (A lot) Not only cutting those back, but adding in a lot of water. I've never drank enough and a little dehydration was always normal, but not any more! I bought a couple stainless water bottles and I'm drinking tons of water, at least two a day! I think it's already helped my face clear up, what little red spots I had, and making me pee like crazy!
Breakfast! I've always been the person that skips that "most important meal of the day." Not so much any more. I've been eating grits almost every morning. (Or cereal with yogurt, peanut butter crackers, eggs and cheese, that kinda thing.) I have to admit, it does help with the energy level. A healthy breakfast gets your day off to a good start! (I always thought that was just a line, but it's actually true.)
Next thing I need to add is that active part. I'm a fan of Doctor Oz and I read an article he wrote the other day. It was about being healthy and active. His advice for being active? Well he does 30 minutes of yoga every day and highly recommends it. It doesn't stop there though. Go on walks or day hikes, push ups, crunches, or basically whatever you like to do. I think it's fair to say we could all do that. The most important thing is to find something you enjoy. So I'm going to try out the Doc's advice and start with yoga. I'm pretty excited about it. I just need a video to get me started.
I've got some other stuff in the works, but nothing to write about yet. I will let you know when it happens though.
On to Bella. (Can't have a blog without her!) She has had quite a day! Yesterday she was stuck inside alone all day, something she is not used to. Boy was she wild when I got home! Attacking everything in sight! So of course we played, but she didn't get hardly any outside time in. So we went out today, but she must have found a fountain of energy because she's wild again! I found her favorite toy, the pink mousey. You would think it's the newest toy she has. I tied it to her stick with a string and she has been chasing and jumping for it. She's so fun. After playing for most of the morning and taking a trip outside, I think I finally wore her out. Now she is sound asleep in her little kitty bed. Precious.
